Hi, Grace! I started working on the testimonials and I've started the t-chart on the prewriting page. I didn't get through all of the testimonials, but I think I'm getting a better idea of what this project will entail. I'm going to put the page links on your wiki. See you later! Leslie
Hi Leslie,
I was excited to see I had access to your wiki. I added to the prewriting page. I need to complete the rest of the readings tonight and will try and begin writing the paper tomorrow after a good night's rest. See you later! Grace
Okay, sounds good. I will work on it more tomorrow and Monday as well. I need to look at more of the testimonials and read over the assignment requirements again. Leslie
Leslie,
I am going to type on a Word document and then paste it to the wiki. I am a little nervous since some students said on the discussion board that they have lost their work. I am having difficulty scrolling down on the t-chart. I can't see everything that I posted last night.
Leslie,
I started writing a paper on collaboration. I wrote about the importance and benefits of collaboration with the different stakeholders. I started with administration and teachers. It is 10:30 and I am tired. I need to add about the students. I have been using information from my readings and the testimonials. Does it look like I am on the right track? I will continue to work on this tomorrow. I pasted it to the project page so we could edit it there. Let me know what you think. I hope to have this done early in the week because the only night I can't work on this is Thursday evening. We have open house (Acadmics in Action) from 6-8. I am staying after school to plan with my team and I won't be home until the evening is over. I will be too tired to even look at the computer Thursday evening and it is due Friday evening.
Grace
Grace, I would love to have it done by Thursday. I don't like to wait until the last day to turn in anyway, so that sounds perfect. If we get it finished up and turned in by Wednesday night that would be fine. I love what you have written so far. I'm going to add to it and try to do a student paragraph and a librarian paragraph. Since we have to turn it in as a Word doc I'm going to see if I can paste it into a Word doc and attach it to the wiki. I am working on my kids' computer which only has Office 97 - I know, I know - so it might not work for me, but I'll see what I can do. I'll get back to you...
Leslie,
I added some more this afternoon. It is about 1 1/2 pages long. We need to add more. Feel free to make changes and I will check back tomorrow after school.
Grace
Grace,
I made a couple of changes, not much, but I did attach it to the project page as a Word doc. I have a question: on the rubric it says that we are to highlight the areas that are our own ideas and questions - do we each highlight in a different color or do we highlight all of your and my reflections and ideas in the same color? Also, are you gathering that we are to include the librarian in discussing the stakeholders of collaboration or is it just administrators, teachers, and students? I'm going to come back and work some more tomorrow. It seems like the prewriting page needs to include some thoughts from the module 1 readings, so I added a bit and I'll do more tomorrow. I think we're on the right track...
Leslie
Grace,
I added some more to the attachment today. It's almost 2 pages. I would still like to add a little more of my own reflection as well if there's room. I am not good with MLA. Are you familiar with it? If so, would you look at my references and citations and see if they are right? If not, I can see if I can run them through RefWorks. APA I can do in my sleep, but I just don't have much experience with MLA. I was looking at the rubric and I think we've done a pretty good job of covering everything so far. How do you think we are doing? I will check back in tomorrow...
Leslie
Leslie,
I loved what you added. I think it is important to include the librarian and the benefits they gain. I think we included benefits to all. My question is did we relate them enough to our own ideas and questions under Content Reflection on the rubric? I think we just highlight the reflections in one color. I don't think it needs to be separated. We are just short of 2 pages. What do you think we need to add more too? I am not good with MLA too. I am familiar with APA.I am not sure of how to cite a PowerPoint. Now I am questioning if I did mine correctly.
Grace
Grace,
I looked at the posts in BB about the references and I alphabetized ours. I think they look okay, but I just don't know MLA that well. If you looked it up last night and they look okay to you I'm sure they're fine. I re-attached the paper to the project page. I added a little more to the conclusion and I added highlighting in gray as well. Look at what I highlighted and see if I got all the areas in the paper where we added our own reflections. We are only 6 lines short of having 2 pages, which I think is close enough, but if you think that amount of reflection is not quite enough we can add a little more. I won't be able to look at it tomorrow until late - Wednesdays are my arch-nemesis - but once we get those few things taken care of I think we're about done. What do you think?
Leslie,
I added a few more sentences as reflection in the paragraph of self assessment. I feel like it looks good. I think we have 2 pages. I sent it to you on e-mail. I am not sure how to upload it to the wiki. One of us needs to turn in the T-Chart URL and the rubric. Do we just fill in the top of the Rubric? The other one needs to turn in the paper. What do you prefer to turn in? I read the rubric again. Please look at the Prewriting T-Chart. It states to cite their sources using complete citations. Does this mean we have to list citations on the T-chart too? I am a little confused. I will check back tomorrow evening. Thursday evening will be the disaster for me.
Grace,
I saw that about the prewriting chart. The only things that need full citations still are the interviews. Do you think it would be enough if we put Interview with 3rd grade teacher, name? I think the paper looks great. If you want, I will turn it in and you can do the rubric, etc.? Does that sound okay? It really doesn't matter to me, but I'll turn my part in tomorrow most likely. Let me know what you think about the citations on the prewriting page and I will update that later tonight if you want.
Leslie
Leslie,
I will add the citations to the prewriting chart. I can turn in the rubric too. I have to find out where to turn it in. I think we did a great job on the paper. I am a little nervous about the prewriting t-chart.
Grace
Grace,
Me too. I think it's all there, though, except the citations. If you want me to do half of them just let me know. I know you will be really busy today. I will turn in the paper this evening. Thanks for everything! I think we did a great job!
